Educational Field Trips

PhotoCamp Five Museum's optional environmental science program follows Camp Five's Forests for All: The Economics of Conservation curriculum and is suitable for students in grades 3 - 12. Children younger than 3rd grade may participate in the regular Camp 5 guided tour. This program offers an ideal opportunity for students attending summer school enrichment programs, as well as Girl Scout & Boy Scout groups or any other summer recreational programs. As part of the environmental program, students will visit Camp Five's regular features.

The Camp Five complex also includes the Nature Center with a northern wildlife diorama and interactive displays of birds, fossils and wildflowers. The 1900 general store sells train souvenirs, toys and candy. Camp Five is located just west of Laona on U.S. Highway 8.

Camp Five Museum, an active promoter of environmental education, is happy to host school groups for a day of fun and learning. Visits begin with an exciting ride on the Lumberjack Steam Train. The 1916 steam train takes students to our museum complex, which includes a logging museum and blacksmith shop, a forest tour, a farm corral where students can pet and feed docile animals, and other fun hands-on nature activities.

For groups of twenty or more, the cost per student is $7 and and the adult fee is $17. The bus driver and one leader per twenty students will be admitted free. Students maybring their own lunch or purchase lunch at the ChooChoo Hut.

To make a reservation, please send us an email. Or you can call us at 715-674-3414.

We look forward to seeing you this year on the Lumberjack Steam Train!
